SAN DIEGO TRAVEL TIPS
March 21, 2018
Our upcoming Paperless User Conference in San Diego will be held at the Westin Gaslamp Hotel, which is located in the Gaslamp Quarter National Historic District. Situated within 20 blocks between Broadway and San Diego Bay, the district features restored Victorian buildings and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. You’ll find restaurants, shops and galleries just minutes from the hotel!
If you’re looking for places to explore a little farther out, historical Balboa Park features numerous museums and gardens, as well as the San Diego Zoo. As one of the largest and most famous in the US, the zoo features exotic animals and enclosures designed to replicate natural settings. You’ll also find Seaport Village nearby on the waterfront or Little Italy not far away, both of which feature food, shopping and other sightseeing opportunities.
Regardless of where you decide to venture, don’t stress about transportation! San Diego’s Metropolitan Transit System offers many ways to travel around the city. The famous Red Trolley stops just outside of the Westin Gaslamp hotel and is a great alternative to taking a taxi through city traffic. The MTS website even offers a handy trip planner to help you decide which routes to take to destinations around the city.
And don’t forget to check the weather and pack accordingly! The climate is moderate, often with a chance of rain, and cool in the evenings - especially near the ocean. Make sure to check a weather guide, such as this one, before heading out for the conference!
